IL PARCO

Il Parco della Memoria e della Pace è il luogo dove il 20 giugno 1944 i nazisti fucilarono 43 Partigiani ed è un’area monumentale dedicata alla Resistenza.
Un’alta croce, quale simbolo di sacrificio, domina il luogo quasi a protezione del lungo muro che reca incisi oltre 1.200 nomi di Partigiani caduti.
Una lapide elenca i cittadini di origine ebraica trucidati dai nazisti nella nostra Provincia.
Davanti alla croce l’urna di granito che contiene ceneri umane provenienti dal Campo di sterminio di Mauthausen; nell’area un monumento è dedicato a coloro che prigionieri non si arresero.
Una scultura in rame, donata dai Partigiani sovietici della Georgia che militavano nelle nostre formazione a testimonianza dell’unità internazionale nella lotta al nazifascismo.

  THE PARK

The Memory and Peace Park is the place where on 20 June 1944 the Nazis shot 43 partisans. It contains a number of memorials devoted to the Resistance.
A tall cross, the symbol of sacrifice, dominates the area, as if protecting the long wall on which are engraved more than 1,200 names of partisans killed during the Resistance.
A stone plaque bears the names of the Jews murdered by the Nazis in this Province.
In front of the cross is a granite urn containing human ashes from the Mauthausen concentration camp. A memorial in the area is dedicated to the military internees, who refused to surrender to the Fascist regime.
A bronze sculpture donated by the Soviet Partisans from Georgia who fought in local partisan formations testifies to the international unity which characterised the struggle against Nazi-fascism
